Morris serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Roark portfolio company Primrose Schools.

Prior to joining Roark in October 2007, Morris was a Partner at Grotech Capital Group, a private equity firm based in Baltimore, MD with nearly $1 billion in capital under management. At Grotech, Morris was responsible for the sourcing, execution, oversight and realization of investments primarily in the consumer sector. During his tenure at the firm, he was instrumental in Grotech’s success in the restaurant franchise sector having worked closely with several leading restaurant franchise chains. Morris served on the board of directors and played a lead role in the firm’s 2006 acquisition of Del Taco, the second largest Mexican quick service restaurant chain in the United States, and the firm’s 2004 acquisition of Captain D’s Seafood, the second largest quick service seafood restaurant chain in the United States.  Morris was also instrumental in the firm’s successful investment in Yorkshire Global Restaurants, the parent company of A&W restaurants and Long John Silver’s, which was sold to Yum! Brands in 2002.

Prior to joining Grotech in 1999, Morris worked in the investment banking division of Deutsche Bank and its predecessor entities, BT Alex. Brown and Alex. Brown & Sons, where he focused primarily on the industrial, environmental and business services sectors. Morris received a B.S. in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
