Roark’s “Change the Equation” platform seeks to uplift, educate, and empower children from under-resourced communities to succeed in school and realize their potential. While education provides the surest path to opportunity and social mobility, the first step is ensuring that basic needs are met. Roark invests in innovative programs that provide wrap-around services such as food, tutoring, financial literacy, applied learning, life skills training, and emergency assistance.
Our efforts focus on Atlanta-based organizations that work to close the gap between circumstance and access, potential and opportunity, and dreams and reality. Currently, our signature partners are Agape Community Center and Communities in Schools, where our team members are active in the mentoring and support of students.
Additionally, we provide grants to other local organizations that are ‘changing the equation.’ We are involved with the Boys and Girls Club of America by supporting their Atlanta clubs and participating on the selection committee of the Southeast Youth of the Year. We’re also proud to support Helping Mamas, the largest baby supply bank in Georgia, in their efforts to assist the 300,000 babies born into poverty each year.
